Why haven’t we already changed course?
The difficulty lies, not in the new ideas, but in escaping from the old ones
John Maynard Keynes (1883–1946), economist and philosopher
In a nutshell, if we are to change course (quickly enough to prevent ‘ecological collapse’), then it is essential for us to identify and understand:
- whatever’s been holding us back till now
- any specific habits we need to break
Accordingly, the page will feature five sections:
- We don’t have the societal change ingredients of focus, belief, and numbers
- We have been too busy to clearly see our own nature, systems, and plight
- Our flawed economic system keeps us busy, muddled, and divided
- We can’t change course without empowering ourselves as one global team
- We can’t transform our economic system if we keep accommodating its flaws
Page status: This manifesto page, along with the Approach page, is still being worked on and will be published around mid October.
